CLEVELAND -- The White County football team racked up 421 yards and held Oconee County to just under 200 yards on Friday night.

But turnovers and missed opportunities proved costly for the Warriors, who fell 27-24 in Cleveland.

White County (1-3) piled up 320 yards on the ground, including 89 yards and a TD on 14 carries from Ryan Kennedy, but the Warriors gave up two fumbles in each half deep inside Oconee County territory.

Oconee County managed 0 yards in the first half but scored on the opening kickoff to take a 7-0 advantage. The visitors finished with minus-7 yards rushing on the night but took advantage of some big pass plays to help take the lead.

The Warriors scored to pull within 27-24 with eight minutes to play and forced a punt from Oconee with time remaining on the clock, but the Warriors couldn't convert for the victory.

White County quarterback Will Brock finished 10 of 20 for 101 yards and a touchdown through the air -- to Andrew London -- while also rushing for 50 yards.

London also rushed for 73 yards, while Dalton Whitfield added 76 yards on the ground, and Michael Limbaugh rushed for 50 yards.

White County will take a bye next week before facing Lumpkin County on Sept. 30.
