(Cleveland)- An 18-year old male driver escaped serious injury early Wednesday in White County  when the pickup  truck he was driving ran off the road, ran through a yard clipping a large tree and  hitting a house. Ana Newberry White County Fire Department spokeswoman said the accident occurred  around 8 :00AM  east of Cleveland at Harland Drive.

Newberry said for some unknown reason the drive left the roadway.  She said it was not raining and the roadway was not wet.  According to Newberry the house was knocked off its foundation about 3 inches. The driver  was already out of the vehicle when fire and medical units arrived. Newberry said he was transported by White County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The county building inspector was called to the scene to evaluate the home and damage it sustained.  There were no other injuries reported.  The  Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident and no details are available.
