GSC team places 6th in free enterprise competition

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville State College's (GSC) Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team placed sixth in University System of Georgia (USG) competition to solve social issues. The statewide contest called on student skills to create business solutions.

GSC students were among those from colleges and universities around the state who seized the chance to put their knowledge to work through a recent statewide competition focused on finding business solutions to some pressing community issues such as domestic violence, adult illiteracy, unemployment, and housing.

The competition was held by the USG as part of a unique "Social Business and Microcredit" economic development conference held October 17 in Atlanta at Georgia Tech's Ferst Center and hosted by the USG.
