Another Independence Day tradition in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - There's another Fourth of July weekend tradition in Gainesville besides fireworks and cook outs; it's the annual Memorial Park Funeral Home bar-b-que to honor Public safety officers.

It was the 17th year for the big feeding on the grounds; Memorial Park owner Jack Frost expected over 6,000 people to come and eat bar-b-que pork and chicken in an event that's also popular with the public. Frost said he wanted to honor the people who protect the people.
