Fourth case of rabies for Hall County

GAINESVILLE - Rabies alert signs have been posted along Ledan Extension, where a rabid skunk came into contact with a dog last week.

Authorities with Hall County Animal Control said that the skunk and dog came into contact on Wednesday, March 24. The skunk was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab - Virology Section in Decatur on March 25. On March 26, Hall County Animal Services was advised that the skunk was positive for rabies.

This is the fourth confirmed rabies case of 2010 for Hall County.
