Boy Scouts Honor Distinguished Citizens

DEMOREST - Three northeast Georgia citizens were honored Thursday night for their exemplary service to their communities and American values at the annual Northeast Georgia Council- Boy Scouts of America American Values Dinner.

The event held on the campus of Piedmont College in Demorest honored White County Probate Judge Garrison Baker, Fielddale Farms and Habersham Bank executive Gus Arrendale, and former Toccoa Mayor and former Stephens County radio and TV executive Roy Gaines.

Each of men were introduced as being a person who have continually give back to their community and set examples for other. 

Cleveland Better Hometown Manager Maria Flynn introduced Judge Baker she told the crowd about Bakers service to the community as Probate Judge and Election Superintend, but also shared how he has provided guidance to the youth who serve on the Cleveland Better Hometown Junior board, Flynn said Judge Baker has made an impact on they youth.

The Keynote speaker for the event was former NFL player and Coach Dan Reeves.  The event also served as a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts, who are Celebrating 100 years of scouting.
