GAINESVILLE - Funeral services are pending for longtime Gainesville-area pastor Fulton Boswell, who died over the weekend at the age of 89.

Rev. Boswell had served a number of churches in the area during his career, including Poplar Springs Baptist for 20 years and Montgomery Memorial Baptist for 14.

Stanley Pierce was Minister of Music at Montgomery, serving alongside Rev. Boswell.

"I always called him the Eveready Bunny," laughed Pierce. "He was just always going." Pierce commented that Rev. Boswell had a special gift for visitation and always had a kind word and a smile for others.

Pierce noted that Rev. Boswell was pastor at Montgomery Memorial when the church burned and did not retire until the church was rebuilt and the debt was paid. At the time of his retirement, Boswell was 87-years-old.
