This year's Grand Marshals will be the families of Charlie Company, the Gainesville National Guard Unit that is training for deployment to Afghanistan next month.
One of the organizers , Cheryl Vandiver, says a military band will be included this year... the Army-Air Force Band from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta. Vandiver adds that the band has agreed to a concert later in the day if a venue can be found.
In addition, the Chestatee High School Band - which has been in each of the previous parades - will participate again this year... and Vandiver says she would welcome other high school bands as well.
This year's parade will be on May 25.
