CUMMING - Forsyth County officials say they take very seriously allegations against a county employee, accused now of withholding information in the child porn trial of a county sheriff's deputy.

The county issued a press release last night, saying officials are aware of the motion for a new trial in the case of Scott Pruitt, a Forsyth deputy convicted earlier this year on internet child porn charges. However, they say the matter is considered a personnel issue, so they cannot comment further on the case.

Also in the release, the county notes that a computer forensics expert hired by the county to review a related personnel issue found information that might be related to the Pruitt case. The county says it cannot comment on the weight or value of that information.
