Georgia gas averages still above $4.00 mark

ATLANTA - Gasoline prices across Georgia remain above the $4.00 mark.
Monday's statewide average for regular unleaded is $4.03, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That's down just a penny from Sunday.
The national average for regular is $4.06 a gallon.

Among the state's major metro areas, prices are lowest in Augusta, where regular is averaging $3.96. The highest metro average $4.05 a gallon was found in Athens.

Oil prices rose Monday to near $130 a barrel on concerns over the threat of new sanctions against Iran and the possibility of a storm in the Gulf of Mexico.

GAINESVILLE AREA PRICES

In Gainesville, prices ranged from $3.96 to $4.05, but you can get it for $3.75 at one Buford outlet.

The highest price listed by GasBuddy.com early Monday was in Winder... $4.19 a gallon at one outlet.

Elsewhere, the cheapest in Flowery Branch and Oakwood was $3.99.
