Hall County Deputy Coroner John Wayne Abernathy identified the woman as Elizabeth Hugo, 34, of Dahlonega. Hugo was pulled from an above-ground pool at a home on Whitmire Road off Mount Vernon. Authorities said residents of the home were attempting to resuscitate her when they arrived on the scene. Hugo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the drowning, but at last report, toxicology reports were not available.
