Former longtime automobile dealer dies

GAINESVILLE - Harold Delong, a former longtime automobile dealership owner in Gainesville, has died.

DeLong, 86, died early Wednesday.

DeLong joined the family business, DeLong Motors, in 1945 after serving in World War II, and later became owner of Honda House, a motorcycle dealership in Gainesville. He served as a member of the city commission (now city council) and on the Gainesville Board of Education.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church on Green Street. A complete obituary can be found on the obituaries page of this Web site).
