Williams, member of Drake's Final Four squad, dead at 60

<p>Al Williams, a member of Drake's 1969 NCAA Final Four team and one of the school's all-time leading rebounders, has died of liver cancer. He was 60.</p><p>Funeral services for Williams, who died Monday at a hospital in Georgia, will be held Saturday in Decatur, Ga., school officials said.</p><p>A native of Peoria, Ill., Williams played for the Bulldogs from 1967-70 and was a starter when they played in consecutive NCAA tournaments in 1969 and 1970.</p><p>Williams averaged 8.8 points and 7.2 rebounds as a junior on the team that finished 26-5 and lost 85-82 to eventual champion UCLA in the national semifinals.</p><p>He was a co-captain the next season and led the Bulldogs to a 22-7 record and the Midwest Regional championship game. He averaged a school-record 13 rebounds that season and was a first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference selection. He left as Drake's career rebounding leader with an 8.6 average.</p>
