UNDATED - It's like a broken record but more record highs were broken in Gainesville and elsewhere in northeast Georgia Wednesday.

The 73 reading at the Gainesville airport topped the old record of 71 set in 1931.

Other places where record highs were set include Cleveland (74), Cornelia (74), Dawsonville (74), Buford (76), Clayton (73), Dahlonega (74), Jefferson (76), and Ellijay (74).

Today is expected to be another day with temperatures in the 70s across most of Georgia, with some low 80s possible in the southern part of the state. Some showers are also possible in north Georgia and they will be followed by a cool down... with lows by Monday morning in the 20s in north Georgia and daytime highs only in 40s.
