BIRMINGHAM - The SEC has named Georgia Bulldogs runningback Knowshon Moreno as Freshman of the Week for his performance in a 44-34 Georgia win over Troy. Against the Trojans, Moreno rushed for a career-high 196 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns.

Moreno scored on an 80-yard run on his second carry of the game. It was a career-best scoring run, as well as the longest touchdown run by a Bulldog since 1997.

On Saturday, Moreno also became just the 12th Georgia runner in history to top 1,000 yards in a single season.

This marks the third time this season that Moreno has been named the top freshman in the SEC. He was also named Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Florida.
