Lady Lions shut down Greenforest

GAINESVILLE - Defense was the name of the game as the Lakeview girls basketball team forced Greenforest's offense to turn the ball over 44 times on its way to the win.

The Lady Lions' defense (11-9) led the way as they held Greenforest to just 1 point in second half of their 51-15 win.

Lakeview finished the game on a 30-1 run starting with the last minute of the second quarter.

Lakeview's Lydiann Jacobs had 19 points to lead the team and Nadia Muhanna had 12 points.

The Lions defense forced 24 turnovers in the first half. In the third quarter the Lady Lions held Greenforest scoreless and held them to just one point in the fourth.

Lakeview was leading 24-14 at the half and put the game away with a 19-0 third quarter.

Despite the win, Lakeview was out rebounded by Greenforest 32-27 in the game, including being out rebounded 23-13 in the first half.

Greenforest's leading scorer's were Jamie Dearheart with 6 points and Crystal Goode had 4 points.
