CUMMING - A 40 year-old Cumming man has died in the collision of his motorcycle and a SUV on Highway 9 near Hamby Road in Forsyth County.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Phil Alexander, James Reuben "Crawfish" Smith of Valley Stream Drive in Cumming was headed south on Highway 9 when the other vehicle turned left into his path.

The SUV was driven by 20-year-old Chandler Ethen Mays of Highgrove Road in Alpharetta. Mays was attempting to turn into a private driveway.

According to Alexander, Mays said he was behind a tractor-trailer and could not see the motorcycle when he attempted his turn. Smith was taken to North Fulton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Mays was not injured.

No charges have been filed pending completion of the accident investigation.
