Sock hop falls victim to Ivan

GAINESVILLE - We have our first local casualty as North Georgia prepares for the arrival of the remnants of Hurricane Ivan later this week.

The prospects of stormy weather Thursday has prompted a one-week postponement of Enota Elementary School's 50th
anniversary sock hop.

Originally scheduled Thursday night, the dance is now set for September 23.
