Mayor Milton Turner says the growth in Lula, especially along Georgia 365, points to the need for a "professional" to run the town's day-to-day operation.
"We're looking at a large sewer plant and speaking with our engineers, they're (telling us we) definitely need a city manager before you jump into this," Turner said.
Mayor Turner says applications must be in by February 15, with interviews to start the following week, a list of finalists by March 1, and the position filled by the middle of March.
He says the city is advertising the opening in two newspapers and through the Georgia Municipal Association.
