Jeff Anderson tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he is confident the Northern Arc Task Force can raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight the proposed superhighway.
The task force has established itself as a non-profit organization.
The group has begun its fund-raising and is looking for an attorney as it considers a suit aimed at stopping the road.
A rally sponsored by the task force in Lawrenceville Saturday attracted a crowd of about 600. A similar meeting in Cumming a few weeks ago drew about 900 people.
