COLUMBIA, MISSOURI - For fans whose enthusiasm for the home team refuses to die -- even after they do -- the University of Missouri-Columbia has the solution.

Those looking to extend school spirit beyond the grave can now purchase an officially licensed Missouri coffin, courtesy of Collegiate Memorials of Macon, Georgia.

The licensed coffins feature the Missouri insignia sewn into the velvet interior and cost between $1,500-$2,300.

The company's president -- Scott Walston -- says no Missouri coffins have been sold so far. But then, the company hasn't begun marketing in Missouri yet.

Walston says it takes a year or two to set up with a distributor.

Collegiate Memorials sold its first coffin to University of Nebraska in May 2001. While the company now sells to more than 40 schools across the country, Walston says Nebraska remains his biggest market.
