Melissa Elaine Shirley

Melissa Elaine Shirley, age 43, of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Melissa was born on March 3, 1975, to Herman and Elaine Tallant. She was a graduate of Forsyth Central High School. She married Grover Shirley on November 18, 2006, in Cumming, GA. Melissa was an employee of Ingles. Melissa loved her husband and family dearly. She loved to go fishing in her free time. Melissa was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend. Melissa loved and enjoyed spending her time with her family and fishing.

Melissa lives on through her loving husband, Grover Shirley; parents, Thomas Herman and Patricia Elaine Tallant; brother, Jeff (Kim) Tallant; along with many other loving relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Ricky Byrd and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
