Charles Stanley Bowden

Charles Stanley Bowden, age 81, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

Mr. Bowden was born on March 30, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late William Kingsley Bowden, Sr. and Martha Louise Nunn Bowden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Bentley Bowden; daughter, Nancy Lynn Bowden; and brother, Bill Bowden. Mr. Bowden retired from the Ford Motor Company with 21 years of service. He was also a fireman with the City of Atlanta Fire Department for 13 years. Mr. Bowden was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Carnesville Masonic Lodge #186 F&AM where he received his 25 year pin.

Survivors include his daughter, Kay Hudson of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and LaDonna Bowden of Barnesville and Tommy and Sherry Bowden of Griffin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Maurice Bentley of Toccoa; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Sunshine United Methodist Church with Dr. William Hyndman officiating and masonic rites by the Carnesville Masonic Lodge #186 F&AM.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church after the service.
