Charles F. Cape

Charles F. Cape age 81 of Gillsville passed away Saturday May 5, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.
 
Mr. Cape was born October 23, 1936 in Gillsville, Georgia to the late William Gordon & Lille Mae Sims Cape. He lived his entire life in Gillsville. He was retired from Gold Kist after 54 years of service & was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon & Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his first wife & mother of his children, Barbara Sue “Bobbie” Hewell Cape, an Infant daughter, Melissa Cape, brothers, David Cape, Coy Cape & Radd Cape.
 
Survivors include, wife, Lois Griffin, Gillsville, son, Michael Cape of Gillsville, son & daughter in law, Kevin & Michelle Cape, Gillsville, grandchildren, Katrina Baugh-Cape of Clarkesville, Katie & Steve Hogan of Jefferson, Seth & Stephanie Cape of Commerce & Trent Cape of Gillsville, great grandsons, Cameron & Hoke Poe & Bentlee Hogan, great granddaughter, Briggslee Cape, brother in law & sister in law, Rick & Shirlene Hewell of Gillsville, brother & sister in law, Earl & Cindy Cape, Gillsville, sister, Jeannette Suggs of Anderson, S.C., sister & brother in law, Vivian & Rev. Swayne Poole of Griffin, a niece & numerous nephews and many wonderful friends also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held­­­­­­ 2 P.M. Monday May 7, 2018 at the Gillsville Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Calhoun & Rev. Shannon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Gillsville Cemetery. Mr. Cape will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at the church.
 
The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Sunday May 6, 2018 at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce.
