Lanett Andrew "Dink" Staton

Lanett Andrew (Dink) Staton of Lynncliff Dr., Gainesville Ga., was born Sept. 27, 1925 in Jackson County, Ga. He passed away April 28, 2018 in Hall County Georgia after declining health. Dink retired from Southeastern Highway Construction Company, J.A. Long Highway Construction Company, and Lothridge Brothers Construction Company where he worked as a welder and mechanic for many years.

Dink was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Lucy Carlan Staton; parents Viola and Raney Staton; brother Llano Staton. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law Ronnie and Linda Staton, Lamar and Shirley Staton, and son Jerry Staton all of Gainesville, Georgia. Grandchildren and spouses Julie Staton Dills, Michael and Krista Staton, Todd and Charity Staton, and Derek Staton. Great grandchildren Jae, Soren, and Aver Staton, Emily and Aaron Staton, and Jeb Dills. Sisters-in-law Sandra Carlan Mangum, Elvie Carlan, and brother-in-law Jimmy Carlan. Nephews Rodney Staton and Tracey Staton. And many other relatives survive."

Papa Dink was loved and will be missed by all.

Dink was a WWII Navy veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, Memorial Park Road. Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday and 12:00 Tuesday until service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Ken Ausborn will officiate.
