Jerry D. Sullivan

Jerry D. Sullivan, age 71, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018.

Mr. Sullivan was born on December 1, 1946, in Cornelia, Georgia, to the late Roy Anderson and Icie Myers Sullivan. He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran having received the Addenda Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, Gallantry Cross Medal Color with Palm, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720 and the Marine Corps League. He was former owner and operator of Pro Therm Insulation and of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Elaine Carnes Sullivan of Cornelia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Sullivan of Cornelia and Tony R. and Melanie Sullivan of Mt. Airy; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Scott Collett officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the funeral home.
