Joy V. Bowen

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel or Ward’s Funeral Home for Joy V. Bowen, age 90, of Gainesville. Rev. Phillip Wehunt will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ward’s Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowen passed away April 7, 2018.

Mrs. Bowen was the daughter of the late Van Everett and Emma Idela (Armour) Lomax. She was a member of Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Coy Bowen.

Survivors include daughter and son in law, Linda and Bruce Defoor, Toccoa; sister, Sylvia Olson, Gainesville; grandchildren, Carol Simpson, Lula, Rodney Benefield, Flowery Branch, Joshua Defoor and wife Stephanie, Demorest and Sabrena Hayes, Lula; great grandchildren, Britney Simpson, Braselton, Alex Benefield, Winder and Sarah Grace Benefield, Winder.
