Eugene “Gene” Jackson Clark

Eugene “Gene” Jackson Clark, age 93, of Gillsville, GA passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Gene was born February 11, 1925 in Habersham County to the late John Norris and Mattie Adams Clark. He was the last living sibling of their 8 children.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Claudia Pickle Clark; children, Paula Clark, Stan and Kaye Clark, and Bradley and Denise Clark; 5 grandsons, Glenn House, Blake and Betsy House, Andy and Carrie Clark, Adam and Jessica Clark, and Jessie and Julie Clark.

The light of his life was his 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Whenever the children were around him, all was right with the world.

Gene served his Country in the United States Navy in WWII and was very proud of his service and his Country. He retired from United Cities Gas, and the GA Department of Transportation. He raised cattle and other animals for many years on his farm in Gillsville and was well known for growing a huge garden every year. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ for 64 years.

Funeral Services for Gene are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Brownie Reeves will officiate.

A private burial will follow.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville from 12 Noon until service time on Thursday, March 22, 2018 and again immediately following the service.
