James Walter Eubanks, Sr.

James Walter Eubanks, Sr. age 82 of Commerce passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Eubanks was born October 21, 1935 in Homer to the late Jesse Lamar & Margie Irvin Eubanks. He was the former owner/operator of Eubanks Pest Control and was currently employed at Ivie Funeral Home. He was a past president of the Lions Club & a member of the Wednesday night Men’s Bowling League at Jefferson Lanes. He was a past deacon at the First Baptist Church in Commerce where he was a member.

Survivors include, wife of 57 years, Joyce Eubanks, Commerce, son & daughter in law, James & Debbie Eubanks of Commerce, daughter, Gayle Cowart of Commerce, daughter & son in law, Angie & Eric Edghill of Commerce, brother & sister in law, Randall & Sandra Eubanks of Tucker, sister, Betty J. Baxter of Commerce, uncle, George Irvin of Alpharetta, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a number of nieces & nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Carlton Allen & Rev. T. Gary Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday March 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
