Raymond Lamar Stanford

Mr. Raymond Lamar Stanford, age 41, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 following a sudden illness.

Raymond was born in Clayton County on November 19, 1976. He is preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Steele, father Franklin Stanford, and sister Penny Proctor. Raymond loved to take a trip to Suches to see the mountains.  He loved to fish and gather his thoughts at the river.  Raymond was a man who loved his kids and he was known as “the rock” of his family. 

Survivors include his wife Joy Stanford, Dahlonega; daughter Heather Steele, Dahlonega; son and fiancé Jacob Steele and Victoria Trotter, Suwanee; son Dakotah McKendree, Dahlonega; daughter Josey Stanford, Dahlonega; mom and step-dad Patsy and Carlos Eijo, Forest Park; brother Danny “Boob” Proctor, Griffin; brother and sister in law Robert and Shelia Proctor, Forest Park; brother Frankie Stanford, Griffin; sister Jennifer Stanford, Griffin; brother Benji Davis, Washington State; brother and sister in law Carlos and Morgan Eijo, Douglasville; brother Mathew Eijo, Forest Park; grandchildren Skyler Curvin, Jackson Alexander Steele, Haley Hall; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Danny Benton will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Raymond’s wishes were to be cremated after his funeral service.
