Harry Lee Whitworth, Jr

Mr. Harry Lee Whitworth, Jr., age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances “Fran” Whitworth; and his parents. He is survived by his son, Colin A. Whitworth and wife, Kristina Jackson, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Lucinda Pearl Whitworth, and Summer Rose Whitworth, Toronto, Canada; sisters and brother-in-law, Marcia Blake, Alpharetta, GA, Barbara Husack, Fayetteville, GA, and Jack Johnson, Fayetteville, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Steve and Lynn Mobley, Douglasville, GA, and Richard Mobley, Fayetteville, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Whitworth was born May 3, 1934 in Fulton County, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy with four years of service. He attended GA Tech and was retired from RCA. He was an amateur radio operator and became a pilot at the age of 40. Mr. Whitworth enjoyed playing Bridge with his wife and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA. A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
