Lisa Cantrell

Obituary Date: Monday, February 12, 2018

Lisa Lytina Cantrell was born in Gainesville, Georgia, October 5, 1970 and made her transition into eternal rest on February 12, 2018.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour at an early age. Lisa joined St. Paul United Methodist Church as a young mother along with her two children Kelvin and Mekia. After moving to Gwinnett she joined the body of Christ at Greater Mission Outreach Ministries where she was a faithful member.

Lisa attended J.E. Brown High School in Atlanta. She was employed at Great Beginnings Child Development Center in Buford for many years until her health began to fail. Her passion was working with children and mentoring young people. Shededicated her life to early childhood development believing  that WE ALL  have to reach kids when they are young. Lisa spent most of her summers as coordinator of summer programs at St. Paul UMC and for the Youth Praise Project started by her mom.  Throughout her life, the Lord blessed Lisa with the gift of ministering to young women as a patient listener. As she fought her own good fight of faith she loved encouraging those with cancer to keep pressing their way because ONLY the LORD has the final say!

She is preceded in death by two very special and loving grandmothers; Dessie Mae Buffington and Ruby Cantrell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her children Kelvin DeAndre Dozier, Mekia Shanae Cantrell and Rickiya ImaniBledson; her father, Osco Cantrell, mother Rose Johnson Mackey and stepmother Kimberly (David) Buffington Taylor; sisters, Lawanda Cantrell, Tianna (Jason) Bailey, AkeraBuffington and Melody Gladmon; brothers, Carlton (Nicole) Cantrell, Arthur Darden, Antonio Cantrell, Damien Cantrell and Terrance (Lashonda)Mackey; four grandchildren, Zyi Kelvin Cantrell, Dylan Cantrell, Taylen Dozier and Taraji Tabor; a special friend, Irvin Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
