Dorothy Young

Dorothy Young, affectionately known as “Dot” was born in Gainesville, GA on April 30, 1949.  She loved her grandchildren, sisters, brothers and brother – in -laws.  Ms. Dot had a relationship with God.  She served as an usher at St. Paul.  She was a very selfless woman with a huge heart.  Her ministry here on earth was the gift of giving.  She was talented in doing hair among other many talents. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Malone, stepdad Louis Malone, father Clifford Young Sr., her baby brother Kenny, her grandmother Stella Buffington and grandfather Matthew Buffington.

She leaves to cherish her memories her special friend James (Dude) Mac; son: Quinala (Monique); daughters: Kiwanus, Treva and Djunna; sisters: Olenda (Star) Ramsey, Kathleen (Ralph) Thompson, Diana Curruth; brothers: Clifford Young Jr., Patrick (Vickie) Pryor; two aunts: Jeanette Buffington, Rubynell Keels; special aunt to her children: Carolyn (Nesie) Hester; grandchildren: Quintera, Chetela (Aston) Cheeks, Cameron (Isabella) Young, Makayla, Jalen, Kennedy, Jaz, Shane, Jacy, Felton, Swayzie, Deja, Monteja, Ritavious, Aashiyah, Shidarius, Davonte (Shonda) Young, Marquius, Iesha; nine great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.  She will be missed dearly.  Our mother’s legacy that she left behind for us is love, kindness, giving, and protecting family and doing what’s right!

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Paul United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Paul United Methodist Church between the hour  of 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.  Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
