James Gulley

Mr. James Gulley, age 75 of 2751 Nub Garland Road in Toccoa, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his residence.

A son of the late Lonnie (Bo) and Johnnie Sue Gulley, he was born February 26, 1942 in Toccoa, Georgia, where he lived his entire life.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was a retired truck driver, having worked for Rayloc Trucking, hauling NAPA Auto Parts for 28 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed classic cars, camping and boating.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Francis Gulley Crowe, by two brothers, Gene and Bobby Gulley and by his long time companion, Mazie Harrison.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Teresa Gulley of Toccoa; two grandchildren, Allison Gulley of Marietta, Ga. and Matt Gulley of Toccoa; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will Tuesday, October 31, 2017, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Joey Stewart officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Matt Gulley, Randy Addison, Ricky Harrison, Mike Williams, Jeremiah Williams and Matt Williams.

The family will be at the home on Nub Garland Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.

Interment will follow in the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
