Edith was the widow of Millard Seabolt. She was born Edith Evelyn Sargent, daughter of the late William E. Sargent and Lola Jones Sargent at # 2 Myrtle St.  Edith grew up in the original Gainesville Mill town of New Holland. At the age of 13 she became a member of the New Holland Methodist Church, Spring Street. Her faith remained strong throughout her life and believed it was the reason she lived so long. She had a deep devotion and could quote scripture from memory. Edith had an intense understanding of every aspect of the bible. At age 19 she survived the deadly April 1936 tornado. She worked in the spinning room of Pacolet Manufacturing Company and quickly rose to a position of Payroll Management. Edith was also counted on to make sure all families of deceased mill workers received condolences and flowers.

Edith and Millard met in New Holland where both worked in the mill. After marriage in 1931 they moved to Ball Ground Ga and purchased a farm where they lived for over 70 years. Together they became prominent growers of poultry in Forsyth County Georgia. They were considered top growers for Tyson Industry for many years. The Seabolt farm was highly regarded by many as one of the best run operations in the state.  Edith also satisfactorily completed the studies required by the post graduate hospital school of nursing for the work of a trained practical nurse, in 1958 she received her diploma.  She often spoke of her past desire to continue a career in nursing but her love for Millard and the family farm was stronger. Her skills and knowledge did not go unused for many have benefited by them.

Edith is survived by her brother Raymond Sargent and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Millard Seabolt, her sisters and brothers, Imogene Sargent, Irene Massey, Maerell Lancaster, Ruth Turpen, Macie Crain, David Sargent, Fulton Sargent and Robert Sargent.
