Obituary Date: Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Memorial Services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday September 10, 2017 in Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Azzie Lee Buffington, 97, of Gillsville. Allan Sargent will give the eulogy. Burial will follow in Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Mrs. Buffington passed away September 6, 2017 following a sudden illness. Born in Madison County Georgia she was the daughter of Andrew F. Wilson and Eliza Hall Wilson. Her family moved to Hall County when she was 2 years old and she lived there for 95 years. She was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church and she loved The Lord and all her family. She was a Homemaker and a very hard worker that loved working outside with her flowers, sewing and quilting for her family. Along with her many loves was making sure all animals visiting her had food and a safe place to rest. She was preceded in death by her husband Decatur W. Buffington, Daughters
Marie Harris, Myra Johnson, and Martha Kenimer, granddaughter Karen Sargent, Sons-in-law Marvin Sargent and Frank Vetrano, brothers and sisters-in-law Boyd and Louise Wilson, Floyd and Minnie Wilson, sisters and brothers-in-law Georgia and Smith Buffington, Molly and
Ira Buffington. sister Myrtice Wilson.

Survivors include children, Marvene and Johnny Boyd, Joan Sargent, Joyce Vetrano, Jimmi and Bobby Wallis, Phyllis and Donny Poole, Gail B. Jones and Bernie Spreitzer, Sons-in-law William Harris, Johnny Kenimer and Kenneth Johnson, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
