Eugene J. Minicucci

Obituary Date: Friday, August 18, 2017

Mr. Eugene J. Minicucci, age 73, of Hoschton passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Athens Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his wife and daughter, following an extended battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Pastor Chris Conner will officiate.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.  Following the services, there will be a reception at 6415 Falling Water Lane, Hoschton, Georiga  30548.

Mr. Minicucci was born April 17, 1944 to the late Fulvio J. & Katharine J. Minicucci in White Plaines, New York.  He was a 1962 graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School and a 1968 graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelors in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry.  Being in Quality Control and Application Specialty for his entire career he worked for various companies that included:  Life Savers, Inc.; Burger King Corporation; D’Lites of America; Pillsbury Bakeries & Food Services; Novozymes, Inc.; and Degussa, Inc.  While working he also attended the American Institute of Baking, Quality Bakers of America: NLEA, and Deming Statistical Process Controls and earned the following recognitions:  1978 BEST R&D Contribution; Addressed the 66th Annual Meeting of American Society of Baking in 1990; and a presentation on Icing Stabilizers at the American Institute of Baking in 2002.  Mr. Minicucci was an avid MOPAR’S Car collector and a member of the Georgia MOPAR Car Club.

 

Mr. Minicucci is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Minicucci of Hoschton; daughters & sons-in-law, Lisa & Brian Norton of Monroe, Georgia and Pamela & Jason Kaler of Camden, Maine; grandchildren, Jeremiah Norton, Cassidy Kaler, Julia Thackston, and Hannah Thackston & husband, Walker Hargrove; great-grandchild, Eastyn Thackston Hargrove; brother, Paul J. Minicucci of Fairfield, Iowa; and sister & brother-in-law, Elena R. Minicucci & Adam S. Goldberg of Weston, Florida.
