Denise Ivy Little Harrington

Denise Ivy Little Harrington, age 66, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alyce Peaks Little; and brother, Terrence Little. She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Rev. Everett Harrington, Sr., Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Krestin and Gloria Harrington, Berlin, Germany, Everett and Joanna Harrington, Jr., Buford, GA; six grandchildren; father, William and Ellen Little, District Heights, MD; sister-in-law, Marjorie and David Bowden, Durham, NC ; and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Harrington was born November 11, 1950 in Durham, NC. She was a 1968 graduate of Hillside High School, a 1972 graduate of North Carolina University with a Masters Degree, a 1973 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a Masters Degree, and a 1982 graduate of Laverne Unversity in California with a PhD degree. She was a retired music teacher from the Dekalb County School System with a total of 35 years service in her teaching career. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, and served as a Deaconess. Mrs. Harrington was a member of the Scholastic Committee for children at church. A Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, GA with Dr. Emerson Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Flowery Branch. A wake will be held on Tuesday, July 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA with Rev. B H. Bailey and Rev. Eddie Bailey officiating at the wake.
