Charlotte N. Dorsey 6/26/1944-4/22/2017
One of six children born to Robert Truman and Ruby Bryant, Charlotte married Edwin A. Dorsey on August 24, 1963. They spent most of their lives in Cobb County, Georgia. Charlotte worked for many years in the banking industry and enjoyed any opportunity to meet new people.
She was always known as one of the best cooks around and enjoyed preparing meals (from scratch) for all types of occasions. There was nothing she couldn’t cook. Charlotte also enjoyed dancing and listening to a wide variety of different music genres. She loved to entertain and just about every weekend, hosted some type of card game that provided another opportunity to serve as hostess.
Charlotte is predeceased by her parents, Robert Truman and Ruby Bryant; brother, Robert Allen Bryant; and sisters, Catherine Cole and Diane Harris.
She is survived by Edwin, her loving husband of 53 years; children, Scott (Lisa) Dorsey and Audra (Frank) George; grandchildren Brandi (Tim) Ashworth, Kymberly Dorsey, Andrea (Michael) Ledwell, Kyle (Karey) Dorsey, Aaron McClure, and Ben Dorsey; great-grandchildren Felicia Ashworth and Hailey Ashworth; sisters Virgie Kate Cole and Carolyn Smith; sisters-in-law Peggy Bryant and Saralene Oldham; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25th from 5-8 PM at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home, 1190 McEver Road, Gainesville, GA 30504.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 26th at 3 PM at Sugar Hill Church, 5091 Nelson Brogdon Blvd, Sugar Hill, GA 30518.
