Dr. Pamela A Farr, age 65, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on March 8th, 2017 after an extended illness.
A viewing will be held at Little & Davenport Funeral home on Saturday, March 11, from 6 to 8 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at the same location on Sunday, March 12, at 2 pm.
Pamela was born in Columbus, GA to John and Ernelle Aiken on April 4th, 1951. She grew up in Colombia, SC and graduated from Duke University in 1972 where she studied English literature. In 1984, after completing an internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, she received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University.
From 1989 to 2010 Dr. Farr was a practicing clinical psychologist serving the community in Gainesville, GA. Her professional interests focused primarily on woman's issues and psychotherapy for adult individuals and married couples. Pamela also dedicated time to causes associated with conservation and animal welfare.
Pamela has been married for 34 years to Dr. Stephen Farr. She is also survived by her son Jonathan Farr of Atlanta, her sister and brother in law Patti and Don Yandle of Greenville SC, and by her brother Kenny Aiken of Columbia SC. Her parents precede her in death.
Pamela’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of A Helping Hand Home Care and others who have provided their love and support through her extended illness. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is requested.
