Carolyn Parks

Mrs. Carolyn Parks, 73, of Gainesville passed away on Saturday March 4, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

          Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Brian Malcom will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

          Born on December 9, 1943, in Gainesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Nix and Dessie Stargel Nix. Mrs. Parks worked at Conagra Foods in the Accounting Department. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parks is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Parks.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her daughter, Tracy Parks Ward of Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Jewell and Annie Mae Nix of Gainesville; 2 grandchildren, Richard Christopher Ward and Rebecca Ward both of Gainesville 2 great grandchildren, Deiree Ann Ward and Richard Christopher Ward, Jr. (CJ) and a number of other relatives.
