Katherine Whitmire, 78, of Chicopee, GA passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of
Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Mrs. Whitmire was born on March 15, 1938 in Buford, GA to the late Everett Ward and Pearl Franklin Ward. She was retired from Hancock Fabric and a member of 1st Congregational Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence Eugene Whitmire.
Katherine is survived by her son, Mickey Whitmire of Gainesville and Stanley Whitmire of
Gainesville; daughter, Karen Sosebee of Lula; 6 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
