Mary Johnnie Randolph Ward

Mrs. Mary Johnnie Randolph Ward, age 88 of Buford, formerly of Gillsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Tom Fish will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Ward was born August 26, 1928 in Braselton, Georgia to the late Tom Randolph and Hortense Delong Randolph.  She was retired from Hall County School System as a Music Teacher and was a member of Holly Springs United Methodist Church.  Mary Johnnie graduated from Brenau University with a Master’s Degree in music.  She majored in pipe organ and minored in piano.  Mary Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, W. J. “Bill” Ward, her brother, Thomas Randolph and two of her nieces, Wanda Randolph Roberts and Nancy Randolph Witherspoon.

            Mrs. Ward is survived by her nieces, Betty Randolph Milner, Shirley Randolph Bradford, Mary Randolph Ward, Pat Allen, Reba Ward, Connie Lichty, Charlotte Mixson and Carolyn Randolph Hayes, her nephew, William Randolph, her sister-in-law, Nancy Watson Randolph, her cousins, Dan Clark of Gainesville and Bobby Clark of Houston, Texas and a number of other relatives and friends also survive.
