Shirley Jo Sweat

Shirley Jo Sweat, age 76, of Braselton passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016.  Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was member of Center Union Baptist Church where she attended Robert Brown's Sunday School Class.  She loved her church family and was a great cook.   She worked in the lunchroom for the Hall County School System for 13 years and was the Employee of the Month for the year of 2015-2016.  Survivors include her husband of 61 years Ralph "Jr." Sweat; sons Mike Sweat and wife Robin, Steve Sweat and wife Sandy all of Cumming, Larry Sweat and wife Tammy, Tim Sweat and wife Lisa all of Hoschton and Kevin Sweat of Braselton; daughter Sherri "Sissy" Patterson and husband Ronnie of Braselton; daughter-in-law Tambra Sweat of Murrayville; brother Randy Lee and wife Ginger of Jefferson, sister Minnie Cooper of Marietta and Jean Reed of Braselton; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Versie Adel Peppers Lee;  son Marty Sweat; brothers Jerry Lee and Tony Lee; sisters Margaret Card, Patsy Parten and Carolyn Lee.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Gooch, Rev. Keith Truelove and Justin Sweat officiating.  The family will receive friends 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, August 29, 2016 and Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am up to funeral time.  Interment will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Parkway, #222, Gainesville, GA, 30501.
