Eunice Wood Allen

Eunice Wood Allen, age 94, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Mrs. Allen was born in Habersham County on August 14, 1921 to the late Oliver John and Nancy Ella Smith Wood. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Allen; sons, Kenneth and James Allen and sisters, Hazel Hooper and Gertrude Smith.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Thompson of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lavalle and Harrison Nix of Turnerville; sons and daughters-in-law, Thurman and Patsy Allen of Demorest, William Donald and Pat Allen of Clarkesville, David O. and Lynn Allen of Demorest, Jeff and Toni Allen of Batesville; sisters, Pauline Morrison, Lougene Wall and Estelle Adams, all of Clarkesville, Katrina Robertson of Cornelia; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Brion Williams and Rev. Scott Doster officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home.
