Olga Berezni Markovich, 90, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 in Gainesville, GA.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday March 4, 2016 in the McGill Scarbourgh Memorial Chapel at Lanier Village Estates, 400 Village View Drive Gainesville, Georgia.
She was born in Clifton, NJ on October 20, 1925 the daughter of the late George Berezni and Anna Karvec Berezni. Olga earned a B.S. and M.S. in Education from William Paterson University, continuing on as an educator with the West Patterson School System for several years before going into the field of Special Education. She was published early by several educator magazines regarding early techniques in working with children with disabilities. She and her husband, Peter, retired to Roswell, GA where they continued to stay involved with several church and community organizations and continued indulging their passion for traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter Markovich of 50 years.
She is survived by her two children, Peter Markovich, Jr., (Kathy) of Quincy, IL and Janet Turner (Kirk) of Dawsonville, GA; along with four granddaughters, Jennifer Wooddell (Mathew), Kathryn Markovich, Jaclyn Dean (Nolan) and Lauren Turner.
