John Edward Regensburg, 76, of Cumming, GA died at Northside Hospital Forsyth on February 2, 2016. Born in Beckley, W VA he was the son of the late John and Lena Regensburg.
John retired from his dental practice after many years of dedicated service to the community. He was an avid art collector who also enjoyed gardening, cooking and travel. He will be remembered by family and friends for his endearing smile and ready laugh.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Phylis McKamey of Cumming, GA; sisters-in-law, Sue (Steve) Swallen of Cincinnati, OH and Ann Shuller of Lexington, SC; brother-in-law, Sam McKamey of Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Megan Hurt, Heather (Greg) Goeke and Tori Shuller; and nephews, Dean (Susan) Walker and Jason (Timicia) Swallen. He was “Papa John” to great nieces, Kaitlyn Brewer, Piper Goeke and great nephews, Brady Swallen and Connor Hurt.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
