Mrs. Emma Jean Byrd Morrow, age 73 of Flowery Branch, was called home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Willowood Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Flowery Branch City Cemetery. Reverend Sylvester Ridings and Reverend Rachel Kanaday will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 12 - 3 pm and 4 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morrow graduated from South Hall High School and Gainesville Beauty School in 1960. She was a hairdresser, homemaker and Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch. Emma was born on April 14, 1942 in Forsyth County, Georgia a resident of Hall County since 1955 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her son, Lanier Delanor Morrow, her husband, Franklin Delano Morrow, her parents, Lester Lelon and Myrtie Estie (Roper) Byrd, her sisters, Irene Byrd and Geraldine (Alston) Turk, her brother, Lester Lelon (Judy Moore) Byrd, Jr., her brothers & sisters-in-law, Eric Ridings, Charles (Ruth), James (Selena), Elizabeth, Harry & Carlton Morrow.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Jeannie & Clyde Grindle of Cleveland, son, Neil Morrow of Flowery Branch, sisters, Fern (Heyward) Patterson of Gainesville, Fairy (Jack) Croy of Cumming and Betty Ridings of Cumming, brothers-in-law, Bonnie (Sue) and Eli (Glenda) Morrow and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
