James "Jamie" Winford Evans II

Obituary Date: Sunday, October 11, 2015

 

James (Jamie) Winford Evans II was born in Gainesville, Ga. on December 3, 1986 to James and Gloria Hailey Evans. He departed this life on Sunday October 11, 2015 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Jamie was a loving, kind-hearted son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and neighbor. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he sang in the Sunbeam Choir and served on the Junior usher ministry. Jamie was an Honor Roll student and a great athlete, excelling in basketball, football, and baseball at White Sulphur, East Hall Middle and East Hall High School. He was a team player and played to the best of his ability. In 2005 he graduated from East Hall High School. He attended The University of West Georgia, Emmanuel College, and The University of North Georgia.

He was employed with TSI Sports and owned and operated A&J Banners. Jamie was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and L.A. Lakers fan.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents the late Trummie and Rev. J. W. Evans founder of Antioch Baptist Church, and Paul C. Hailey.

He is survived by his parents, James and Gloria Hailey Evans, brother Jeremy Evans, sisters Jasmine Evans and Aya Lewis, grandmother Beatrice Hailey, Fifteen aunts and Seventeen uncles. He also leaves to cherish his memory, Special friends Valencia Stringer, Ramir Bledson, Coriya Ware and a host of cousins and friends

Wake Services will be held on Friday October 16, 2015 from 6-8 pm at St. John Baptist Church and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 17,2015 at 1pm at St. John Baptist Church.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wimberly and Jackson Funeral Home.
