Funeral services for Ethelene Sears Stroud, age 87, of Clarkesville, will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 2:00 pm from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm.
Mrs. Stroud passed away October 10, 2015.
Born in Helen, Ga on March 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George Leroy and Rosie Sutton Sears. She was the wife of the late Alfred Stroud. She was the sister of the late George Leroy Sears, Jr. and Beatrice Thomason. She was retired from Habersham Mills.
Ethelene was a kind, humble, and gentle servant of The Lord that put the needs of others first. She was a dedicated caregiver for her mother, and cherished family time above all, especially with her grandsons. She was a rescuer of unwanted animals. Her passions were reading, gardening, and environmental causes.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Karen & Randy Crowder; Two grandsons: Eric Crowder and Ben Crowder; and several nieces and nephews.
